INVICTUS GAMES

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry. In sports take part injured or sick soldier and their associated veterans.
In the Invictus Games there are sports like wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing.
The first Invictus Games took place in March 2014 at the Qeen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The second games opened on 8 May 2016 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney Word, near Orlando, in Florida.
The 2017 games were held in September in Toronto, Canada; while the 2018 games will hold in Sydney.

PINK STINKS

Pink Stinks is a campaign founded in London in May 2008 by twin sisters Emma and Abi Moore. They claim is damage caused by gender stereotyping of children. Pink Stinks says that the marketing of gender-specific products to young children encourages girls to limit their ambitious later in life.
Pink Stinks has created a listing of "Pink Stinks Approved"companies providing not-gender-specific play and learning products for children.
Pink Stinks has attracted attention in other countries and has inspired the setting up of a similar campaign in Germany.

MY FAVOURITE COLOUR

My favourite colour is MAGENTA. This colour is one of universal harmony and emotional balance. It is spiritual yet practical, encouraging common sense and a balanced outlook on life.

THE HISTORY OF SURNAMES

For a long time people didn't have family names, people had first names only.
This custom slowly change.
The Romans introduced a combination of personal and family name. They usually used three names "PRAENOMEN, NOMEN and COGNOMEN".
In England people started to use surnames in the 13th century. Many family name came from jobs.
Names like BAKER, COOK, CARPENTER show an occupation.
People also used places for family names, in fact, in the UK more then alf family names came from places; RIVER, HILL are some examples.
Other surnames came from personal names, for example RICHARDSON , STEVENSON.
Lots of Gaelic names are preceded by MC (son) or O', for examples MC DONALD, O'BRIAN.
Some surnames come from nicknames.

DISNEYLAND

Disneyland is know as the dream of all children and people and it is the happiest place on earth. 
Walt  Disney has the idea of theme parks. He wanted to build a place where parents and children could have fun togheter.
28,000 people went to Disneyland's opening day on Julay 17th, 1955 but it was a disaster. The park owercrowded because people use fake tickets. Theree areas of the parks (Fantasyland, Adventuryland and Frontierland) had to close because of a gas leak and half the rides were broken. After opening day, many people thought that Disneyland would be a failure but now it is the most visited theme park in the world. Disney Resort has a second theme park.
 Disneyland has lots of places to eat: one of this place where you can drink alchol is called Club 33.
The park had a lots of problems in the years and few people died there but today it is the most visited park in the world.

Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King was born in 1929 and he died  in 1968. He lived in Atlanta. He fought for the civil rights of balck people, he led the march to Washington for work and freedom and other march, he received the Nobel Peace Prize. He was determined, strong, pacifist and courageus. He fought against white people.
